The Systems Administration Office is primarily
responsible for the following:
- To maintain and provide accurate and timely data on the Student Records
Database (SRDB), particularly in relation to student load, the maintenance
of the academic structure, academic fees, and students’ enrolment on
modules;
- To
provide operational systems for the management of academic and students’
records (COR, RPS, Programme Specifications and Module Directory
databases), including training and support to users in departmental and
central offices;
- To
manage the implementation of University policy on student satisfaction
surveys;
- To
develop and maintain central Academic Section web pages and to provide
support and guidance to web authors in the Section;
- To
provide technical support and training on IT-based systems in the Academic
Section;
- To
provide management information and statistical returns for internal and
external purposes (e.g. Student Loans Company and HESA) as and when
required;
- To
manage all aspects of student registration, examinations and graduation;
- To manage the production of the University centralised teaching
timetable;
- To provide a non-teaching room bookings service to staff and
students for centrally-managed space;
- To develop, manage and implement the University's records
management policy;
- To
manage the production of the University Calendar, Student Handbook and
associated publications;
- To
service the Senate, the IS Strategy Committee and other such committees
and working parties as the Academic Registrar may determine.
