We have a machine in Lab C (near the Computing Service Help Desk) which is dedicated to specific writing tasks. You can write a CD-Rom with the contents of your M drive, a folder (subdirectory) called "cdwrite", or various software for which the University has a site licence. Additional licensed software maybe aquired by asking departmental IT administrators or ISS Helpdesk.
The options currently available to write licensed software and other data are:
| Cdwrite | Copy the folder "cdwrite" from your M: Drive to CD-Rom. |
| M: Drive | Copy your entire M: Drive to CD-Rom. |
| NVIVO 9 | Make a CD-Rom for installing NVIVO9 |
| SAS 8.2 | Make CD-Roms for installing SAS V8.2. |
| Sophos | Make a CD-Rom for installing Sophos. |
To use the system, login with your normal username and password. The system will then guide you through a series of menu screens to write the CD-Rom.
You can only use blank recordable or blank rewritable CD-Rom media. The system cannot be used to blank rewriteable disks. This task must be done on your own machine, which must therefore have an appropriate drive.
Note:-
Some older CD-Rom drives may not read rewritable disks.
The Information Systems Service accepts no responsibility for media spoilt by the failure of this service.
