My computer seems to have lost the W: drive, so I can't save things in my web site.

Do you really need it? Most University web authors use FrontPage and so don't need a drive mapped to the webserver. See Editing access to University websites for details.

Please note: from 31 January 2005, the share named 'www$', (which allowed access to the top level of the University website), will cease to be available for security reasons. Web authors who use the www$ mapped network drive should contact the Web Support Unit to arrange alternative provision. All other shares are unaffected.
