About the Help Desk

Colchester Campus

The first point of contact for all Colchester campus users is the Help Desk.

*Note that the Help Desk is closed between 09:00 - 10:00 on a Wednesday and is liable to close at short notice when the Computing Service is short staffed or internal meetings are being held. During vacations the Help Desk is closed between 13.00 and 14.00.

The Help Desk provides you with a single point of contact for all services available from the Computing Service. Problems which cannot be dealt with quickly by Help Desk staff will be referred to one of the other specialists within the Service.

Southend Campus

Users experiencing problems with the Open Access Computing Areas on the Southend campus should contact the Southend IT Help Desk:

IT Student Assistants (Colchester Campus)

Additionally, during term time, Computing Service IT Student Assistants (ITSAs) are available at certain times to give advice on the use of computing facilities in the open access PC laboratories. These advisory sessions typically take place at the following times:

Whilst every effort is made to ensure that a session takes place at the announced time, there are occasions when, for reasons beyond our control, a session has to be cancelled. Whenever possible, notice of cancellation is posted in the lab where the session is due to take place.
