Recovering Lost E-mails

E-mail Restores

ISS keeps deleted E-mails for one month in a backup dumpster, after which they are purged. ISS does not restore E-mails, but if you have accidentally deleted one or more E-mails, you are able to recover them yourself by following the procedures in this document, provided the email was deleted with Outlook  in corporate mode, or a mailer using the same protocols..

Restoring your E-mail(s) is a three step process:

1. In Outlook, select the folder you want to recover E-mails to

Step 1

2. Next, go to the "Tools" Menu on top and select "Recover Deleted Items"

Step 2

3. The previous step will open a new window from where you can either select individual E-mails or folders which you had deleted from "the folder you selected in Step 1".

Step 3

4. Select the E-mails or the Folders you want to recover and Click on the envelope in the upper left corner of the screen. This would recover your E-mail(s) to the initially selected folder.
