As with all other computer-related problems, the first point of contact regarding problems with the modem service should be the Computing Service Help Desk.
There is a mailing list for the modem users. The mailing list is called modem-users. This list is intended for announcements and general discussions, so all modem users are advised to subscribe to this list. Help with using the MajorDomo mailing list for subscribing to mailing lists is available.
There is a second list called modem-chat, that you may wish to subscribe to as it allows you to discuss anything related to modems and modem users amongst the modem user community.
Should you have any problems with the modem service, then please e-mail details of the problem to modem-problems. The details should include: the EXACT error message(s); the type of modem you are using; the telephone number you are dialing, and where from; and what you were doing at the time the problem occurred. We will endeavour to provide a fix for your problem, and if it affects many people, then details of the fix will be announced on the above mailing list.
