Networks at Essex

General Information

The data network is owned and managed by the Computing Service, in accordance with the University's policy. Maintenance is carried out on JANET on Tuesday mornings between 07:00 and 09:00 local time. Maintenance is therefore carried out on the University's network during the same time period in order to minimise network down time. This time period is called the 'Network At-Risk' period. For these reasons users should plan to avoid performing any tasks that are dependant on the data network during 07:00 - 09:00 on Tuesday mornings.
