Colour Printer Set Up - Windows 95
The following is intended as a guide for those who wish to set up their PCs (Running
Windows 95) so that they can print to the Colour Printer in the Help Desk.
This document assumes that you have a Computer Service supported L: drive mounted. If
you do not then you should mount one before starting the installation. A suitable area is \\sernt2\local.
It is also possible to set up a WINDOWS NT or a WINDOWS 3.1x machine to use the colour
printer, but this is not the scope of this document.
- Select Start
- From the Start menu, select Settings
- From the Settings menu, select Printers
- In the Printers window, click Add Printer
- Click the Next button to start the installation
- On the next two screens, make the appropriate selections and then click Next
- Network
- \\sercolour\sercolour
- On the next screen, click the Have Disk box
- In the window on "Copy manufacturer's files from" type L:\packages\lexmark\win95_ps
It may be easier to use the Browse option and select the above directory from the
options offered.
- In the list that appears when OK is clicked, select Lexmark Optra C PS2
- Set the printer as "Default" if appropriate and click Next
- Select an appropriate option on the Print Test form and conclude the Add
printer screens by clicking Finish.
