This machine is intended for use by those who need to run compute or memory intensive tasks. Use of the machine is restricted to Staff and Postgraduates. Postgraduates should get their supervisor to request access on their behalf. To get login access on this machine, you will need to contact the Computing Service Systems Group. In general, it will take overnight on any working day for access to be granted.

What can the machine be used for?

The machine can be used for running two types of programs

  1. Compute intensive tasks - i.e. those (typically) requiring a long execution time.

  2. Memory intensive tasks - i.e. those processing large data sets in-memory.

(or a combination of the above).

The machine should not be used for reading email, using the web or other network related activity. We reserve the right to remove access to those found misusing this resource in this manner.
