Configuring wireless devices for eduroam access at the University of Essex

This service is available to all registered University of Essex users and any users from other participating Eduroam organisations. The University of Essex implements JRS Tier 2 as both a home and visited organisation. It provides a secure, encrypted wireless service that enables you to get access to most commonly used internet services such as web browsing and email.  A full list of services provided is available separately.  This is an alternative to the 'full service' (available only to members of the University of Essex) which provides you with a connection internal to the University network and thus offers more services.

You are permitted to use Eduroam under your home institutions Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and the JANET AUP (whichever is more restrictive).  The University of Essex AUP is available separately.  If you require support for Eduroam, it should be sought from your home institution.

Addition information is available from JANET (UK) in the form of the Roaming User Guide and the Roaming Policy document.
