Colchester Campus

 

 

New route onto north side of campus - the new Knowledge Gateway junction will be opening on Thursday 8 December.

 

This will be the new vehicle route onto the north side of campus for students, staff, Day Nursery users and visitors, accessed off the A133 Clingoe Hill.

 

There will be no access for motorists via Elmstead Road from this date. The University’s main entrance remains on the south side of campus.

Fault Reporting - For information on how to report faults at Colchester Campus to Estate Management via the web, click here

 

Disability Lift - A lift for users with disabilities on Colchester campus is available under podia at the entrance to the Social Studies Building. Please contact the Estate Management Helpdesk on extension 2959 for information on the issue of keys for this lifts. Please note a returnable £5 deposit is required for these keys.

Southend Campus

 

Term-time opening hours at the Gateway Building, Southend Campus for staff, students and tenants are as follows:

7am – Midnight Monday – Friday
7am - 10pm Saturday and Sunday

Access outside of reception hours of 8.45 – 5.30 pm Monday to Friday and 9am – 2pm on Saturdays are by Campus Card through the disabled door to the right of the entrance. The Gateway Building is locked from 10pm each evening (6pm Sundays) with no access until the next morning.

 


 

The Estate Management Section is responsible for the following :

  • Strategic Planning and development of the University's estates
  • Maintenance of the buildings and grounds at Wivenhoe Park, Loughton and Southend
  • Planning , procurement, and construction of new buildings
  • Transport, including car park management, policy development and the implementation of travel initiatives
  • Energy Management, including our Energy Efficiency Carbon Reduction Programme
  • Security
  • Post
  • Cleaning and Portering (except for Accommodation)
  • Purchasing and Central Stores
