Parking for Visitors
Visitors may park in the Multi Decked car park, this is accessed via South Courts which is the second road on the right when approaching from the A1028, Colchester Road, Wivenhoe. This car park is manage by Automatic Number Plate Recognition therefore you pay the car parking fee on return to your vehicle. The pay stations are in both ground floor stair wells, please note there is no lift available in this car park. The pay and display charges for non-registered (i.e. visitors) vehicles are:
Up to 2 hours £2.40
Up to 3 hours £3.10
Up to 4 hours £3.50
Up to 6 hours £5.70
Up to 7 hours £8.60
These charges apply 9.30 am - 4.30 pm on weekdays throughout the year, except on bank holidays.
There is further visitor parking in the Valley Car Park. Disabled visitors are welcome to use the disabled bays which are located in Valley Car Park, off Park Road, Car Park B and the Multi Decked Car Park, off South Courts Road; please display your Blue Badge. There are 2 spaces Under Podia which can be booked by Disabled Visitors via the Security Office by telephoning 01206 872971.
Visitors who regularly visit departments at least 5 times per month may register for discounted parking via their department. Any contractor requiring parking must pre-register their vehicles with the Security Office by telephoning 01206 872971.
Wivenhoe House and iLab visitors must obtain a day parking permit from the hotel reception. Constable Building Visitors are allocated a row outside the Constable Building which operates a pay and display system.
A parking enforcement scheme operates within the University car parks.
