Shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Award for Outstanding Support for Students in 2010 and 2011

Most students need support or guidance from time to time and Student Support is a good place to start. Student Support offers confidential advice and information on many welfare issues to assist you through your time at University. These include adjusting to University life, financial concerns and immigration issues. They provide support to disabled students and students with Specific Learning Difficulties, mental health difficulties or long term medical conditions.

Are You Stressed or Anxious about your exams?  Come and talk to someone!
 
Drop-in to Student Support
A member of the Mental Health & Counselling team  will be available to listen and give advice and support around coping with exam anxiety and stress.  No appointment needed – just drop-in
Mondays 10 – 4pm /Tuesdays 1pm – 4pm /Wednesdays 10 – 4pm
 
Drop in to the Student Union Advice Centre
A member of the Mental Health & Counselling team from Student Support will be available every Friday in the Student Union Advice Centre to give advice and support about coping with exam stress and anxiety.  No appointment needed – just drop-in between 2pm and 4pm.
 
Exam Anxiety Workshops
Want to get some great advice and help about managing exam anxiety and stress and optimizing your performance in exams? Come along to room 4.137 between 2pm and 3pm any Wednesday between Wednesday 2nd May and Wednesday 30th May (inclusive) to find out more.  To book a place e-mail suadvice@essex.ac.uk.

University Bursary

The second instalment of the University Bursary (for undergraduate, home students) will be paid direct into bank accounts on 16 May.  If you haven’t received a letter about the bursary yet please check our web pages to check your entitlement http://www.essex.ac.uk/studentfinance/ug/university_support/faq.aspx

Reapply for your student loan/grant - NOW!

Continuing, undergraduate, home students can reapply online for their loans and grants now.  Reapplying early means that all of your funding should be in place by the start of the new year in September/October and there should be plenty of time to resolve any problems that might arise.

To reapply now simply login to your Student Finance England account at: http://www.studentfinance.direct.gov.uk/
