Accommodation on medical grounds
There is a
range of accommodation available.
The
Accommodation
Office have further details on the rooms
including costs.
If you have specific needs, please disclose this on your
accommodation application form or
contact the disability team to discuss the options. There are
single
rooms in halls at Colchester and Southend suitable for
wheelchair users and those with hearing impairments. Further
adaptations can be made to suit your individual requirements
(although major structural adaptations are not usually possible).
As a new student, please ensure you
apply by the deadline.
In subsequent years you can apply for accommodation on
medical grounds (single rooms only). You will need to demonstrate
that you have a physical or sensory impairment or medical condition
which severely restricts your mobility.
The form includes permission for us to send a
questionnaire to your doctor to find out how your mobility is
impaired.
Application forms are available from Student Support,
where the Disability Team will assess your application
