Loughton Campus Support Services
Student Support
While East 15 endeavours to provide a supportive and
friendly environment for all students, we understand that there may be
times when you need a little extra help or advice. In light of this,
the Loughton Campus provide a range of support services for all
students.

Pastoral system
East 15 programmes can be demanding and, at times, the
pressure on students can be considerable. In response to this, the
School has developed a network of support to help with any academic
and personal pressures.
A personal tutor is appointed to each student, who is
a channel for any enquiries, worries, anxieties or complaints that
they may have.
For problems of a more personal nature, or for advice
on any other student support issues, a counselling and full student
support service is available on campus so that students can fill
confident that practical and professional help is there.

Housing advice
At the Loughton Campus, East 15 (in conjunction with
the University of Essex Accommodation Office) provides help and advice
in finding local accommodation for students. Those who wish to live
close to the Loughton Campus can choose from a wide range of flats,
houses and bedsits to rent. There are also opportunities to board with
host families in the surrounding area. Details of accommodation will
be sent to students once they have accepted their offer of a place at
the Loughton Campus.

Dyslexia and other learning difficulties
East 15 recognises that dyslexia and other learning
difficulties are conditions that affect many people and that those
with dyslexia and other learning difficulties are often more talented
than average in areas that do not involve the written word.
Nevertheless, dyslexia and other learning difficulties can be
demoralising, especially for an actor, and can interfere with studies
and with sight-reading.
East 15 is committed to supporting students with
dyslexia and other learning difficulties. The School can arrange for
assessments with an educational psychologist on campus and advise on
entitlement for the Disabled Students’ Allowance, which can be used to
purchase specific equipment and training.

Graduate support
East 15 and the University of Essex are committed to
helping graduates enter their chosen career with confidence. This
support is given in the second and final year of undergraduate
courses
and throughout the year on postgraduate courses. It includes career
guidance, planning of audition pieces and advice from working
professionals.
This support also continues after students have graduated. It includes
continuous advice, support and networking services.

Further information or advice is available from your
campus Student Support service.
