Register with a Dentist
Where to register
If you wish to register with an NHS dentist you can search the
NHS Dentist Locator website for local dentists. You will need to contact
each dentist individually to ask if they are still registering NHS
patients and make an appointment accordingly.
Emergencies
It is very difficult to see a NHS dentist in an emergency if you are
not already registered and GPs and casualty departments are unable
to do dental work.
You will need to call local dentists to see if they are offering
emergency appointments. Otherwise you may need to pay for a private
consultation and treatment, this can cost upwards of £30 depending
on the dentist and treatment.
If you are not registered with a dentist, in an emergency call NHS
Direct on 0845 46 47 and they will be able to advise you on the most
appropriate service for you.
