Session: This conference will explore the activities and findings of the University’s Mature Student Retention project and consider how these could be adopted by other institutions. It will cover key aspects of the student lifecycle from Access courses to pre-registration events and support mechanisms built into the first-year experience. The work at Essex will be located in the local and national context through presentations from colleagues at Colchester Institute and Queen Margaret University. Presenters will include professional and academic staff from these three institutions as well as members of the University of Essex Mature Student Society.
